in this video it shoes gender stereotypes and gender roles. this video is from a very popular show in america. i am pretty sure over half of america’s population knows what the office is. the office is a great show that reveals real world issues and show how they happen in day to day life. this episode really focuses on gender stereotypes. it also has scenes where they are being racist and these are all real world problems that we have and they do a great job at shinning the light on them. not only do they show the problems but they relate it to how these problems happen in the real world. there main argument in this video is that gender stereotypes are a real problem in society and they should not be made fun of. they persuade us by over exaggerating the scenes to show how terrible gender stereotypes are.

In class on Wednesday we discussed gender sterotyping, especially in media. I wanted to dig deeper into gender stereotypes and how they affect children, specifically at how young they can affect a child’s minset.
This article discusses gender stereotypes in relation to careers, and how children’s aspirations to become a certain career are clouded by gender stereotypes. For example, one study in 2017 showed that by the age of 7 what a child aspires to be is along the gender stereotype lines. This also is affected by socio economic class. Overall, environment is a huge factor towards career goals and success.
There is a video linked in the article that is very powerful, and is a clear image of how gender stereotypes in careers affect children. In the video, young elementary kids are asked to draw firefighters, pilots, and doctors. There were 66 drawings, and only 5 were of women in these career roles. The next day, a firefighter, pilot, and doctor were asked to visit the school. All three of them were women, and the children were shocked. It seems out of the ordinary to them, even though it shouldn’t!
Even children’s books have been shown to advertise certain careers being for certain genders. Countless studies show that men’s roles are much higher in children’s books than women’s roles, and males are shown to be powerful while girls are seen as more helpless.
However, many schools are switching to a more open stance towards genders in career roles, and how they want to inspire children to aspire to be any career they choose.

This video is the State of the Union of 2020, took place on February 4, 2020. President Donal Trump was presenting a speech of his to the audience; which had a majority of Democrats and Republicans. The president of the United States would acknowledge veterans from the military. Also, he would present statistics about the economy and the ways the economy has been successful while he has been holding office. During his speech, you can tell that a lot of the Democrats did not side with him at all. However, Donald Trump was prudent to use techniques to gain these opposing individuals to applaud and praise some of his statements.
I am using this video because it is a great demonstrating of rhetorical appeals, which we reviewed in class. During this speech, President Trump was calculative with the way he used rhetorical appeals: Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. He had already established the “Ethos” because he is the president of the United States; which supposedly makes his statements trustworthy/credible. In addition, he uses ethos with the tone of voice he uses while presenting; he had a stern confident tone, which can convince the audience to believe every statement he presents. Along with ethos, the president uses “Pathos” by acknowledging the war veterans who have been serving in the military for a great time-span. Donald Trump tells the stories that the veterans experienced, so he can attack his audience through emotions and give himself more favorability. Lastly, the president used “Logos” during the speech, which made most of the audience applaud for him; even those who were apposing against him. Trump presented case studies about the economy and gave facts; these facts demonstrated how many individuals throughout society are now finding jobs and working. With the president presenting these facts, it made him look outstanding because he demonstrated all of the positives that have evolved after he appeared in the office. With all things mentioned, the president was shrewd with the way he used rhetorical appeals; due to his prudence, he won respect from the citizens, Republican, and the Democrats who were opposing him.

The USC News Article titled “When it comes to women in sports, TV news tunes out” written by Andrew Good in June 2015, discusses the 25 year study of sports television shows and how unbalanced they are when talking about female sports. The study began in 1990 and focused mainly on the show Sportscenter which is a sports news program that is broadcasted on ESPN daily. The show serves as the networks focal point as it is aired both in the morning and at night. The study’s showed that Sportcenter had devoted 2 percent of its total airtime a day to women’s sports, with 81.6 percent of that time focusing on women’s basketball. This number stayed constant from 1999 to 2014. The study went on to show that broadcasters spent 74.5 percent of the time focusing on the “Big 3” of men’s sports in America, which are baseball, basketball, and football. The most interesting discovery was that even during those sports off-seasons the program would be filled with headlines about them or obscure stories related to a player or team of that sport. The article concludes by saying how it knows equality in sports media will not come over night but, believes that the research that has been provided sheds some light and they hope to see a gradual increase in women’s sports coverage.
The author’s rhetoric really drives the argument as he uses all 3 appeals well. He brings up ethos when discussing equality, logos when bringing up the statistics concluded by the study, and pathos when stating how we must balance the field for the boys and girls growing up in our society. Gender inequality in sports media has been a problem for a longtime and something I hope continues to balances out to give women the proper platform to show how athletically talented and gifted they are too.

Summary Response
Summary:
Ethos, Logos, and Pathos is important for being able to persuade someone. Ethos provides a stand for the credibility of the author. Logos is used with, “Clear, concise and logical arguments provide substance to the speaker’s message” (Driscoll & Brizee). Then last pathos involves using emotion and showing the passion you have for the argument or topic that is being displayed. Each one of these components is crucial when being analyzed for how strong of an argument they are putting forward. Ethos, Logos, and Pathos are all evaluated from many perspectives depending on the crowd evaluating the piece they are reading. For example, when analyzing the credibility of an author the audience seeks to find respect, trustworthiness, expertise, and history. When looking for pathos, one must try to find the emotional emphasis that the author is portraying. Therefore, lastly when looking for logos one must seek to point out the facts, studies, statistics, and evidence used to strengthen the argument.
Response:
I personally believe if you can be strong in each Ethos, Logos, and Pathos then you will be able to provide a strong argument or claim you are trying to make. When being able incorporate all of these factors in your writing, you will be able to persuade very respectively and be considered a credible writer. It is very valuable to be able to back up your claims with evidence, sound passionate with what you are writing, and use sources or some other resource to build the credibility that your piece can bring.

This video was posted by SaveTheChildren. It is an advertisement to get people to help out with kids affected by the war crisis in the United Kingdom. The video starts with a family singing happy birthday to this little girl who seems to be full of joy and afterwards makes a wish after blowing the candles. As the video progresses, the little girl is shown to live a happy normal life. However, in the background the adults are vaguely having a conversation about what is happening with their country. Not much information is giving about the situation playing out, but the dad is having a conversation with the mom about staying and not fleeing. Helicopter and airplanes sounds can be heard in the next few scenes. The little girls’ expression changes to confusion as buildings are being exploded and guns shots are heard. As the video concludes the little girl no longer has joy. She seems homeless and scared. The final scene ends with a lady holding a candle and singing her happy birthday, but she no longer smiles as she lost everything at a young age.
The video does a great job in using pathos. It tells the story of a happy little girl being affected by the crisis in Syria when her life gets turn upside down. It shows her emotions and the audience is also affected by events happening in the video. It is also using logos. The video is using real life events to appeal to the audience. Thousands of children are being affected by war in Syria everyday. It is arguing for a change and for people to help out the kids. The advertisement in the video has an impactful message and it told a story through a little girl’s perspective.

This Video is about gay marriage and still being criticized until this day. Why Like Ellen DeGeneres stayed in the view is in it almost 2020 people?. Has the Hallmark channel erases a commercial with two gay women getting married. Why is it still a big deal to judge any one for their sexuality. After hallmark was criticized for airing the commercial, other channel would make fun of Hallmark channel such as remember to stay straight people or the black black saying that basically your kid is gay after watching Hallmark. I think its said that its is still on going and i think it can relate to what we learn in class last Wednesday if these commercial switch place would it be the same. what if we had more gay commercials, would the world just go up in flames, would people stop watching so much TV. Is it the same if it was two men getting married in the commercial? is it hotter when its two women getting married? I also think that Hallmark should have never erased the commercial that just shows stupidity by them for taking it back, they should not care about what anyone thinks. People are still going to watch the channel my mother in law is a big Hallmark channel watcher and she doesn’t care about a gay commercial. She actually thinks it a beautiful thing that Hallmark would put, to show that they don’t judge anyone either but after erase it, it just shows they are very judgmental about gay marriage.

I chose this video from youtube of the today show and they are talking about gender stereotyping in ads. I chose this video because I do not think gender stereotyping is an issue. It should not be an issue because males and females are a lot different and it should be shown on so kids can see it and understand how different one another is. The video shows that the majority of people do not think it is a problem. In commercials, it shows women cleaning and men doing yard work. this is a common thing in the world but men clean the house too. They could put a guy cleaning and it would not be weird. But if they put women doing yard work it would be a little weird. But it is just how the world is, people have different talents and these commercials don’t show that women can’t do it but they can. Anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.

The Sad Animation was the video I picked for this journal. The video is a video that covers how we as humans are killing off wildlife throughout the world in this video it relates to pathos as it appeals to human emotion and in class we are currently discussing pathos, ethos, and logos. The whole purpose of this video it to depict humans as monsters to these animals throughout the world the humans are killing these animals through pollution and killing them by attacking them. in one part of the video it shows a rhino mom with her baby rhino and it starts off very happy then it cuts to the next part of the video laying down with her tusk cut off and bleeding to death. It shows how savage humans can be and hurting this particular animal for financial gain comes as no problem to humans. Overall the video is a crushing video that highlights the horrible things happening to animals worldwide and it just shows a few animals being killed.

In this commercial, which appeared during the super bowl a few years ago, serves to show the stereotypes that society has on women . The people are told to perform actions “like a girl” and without hesitation, all the adults do the actions with stereotypical feminine mannerisms. Then when the young girls are asked to perform actions, they perform in them in a normal fashion just like any ordinary regular person would. The point of this commercial is to show that we as a society see women as clumsy and less physical than men, when that’s not the case. The young girls in the video have never been exposed to the views we as a society have on women, so they go by what they know. Which would be performing actions like any ordinary person.
This ad uses both ethos and pathos. It uses ethos because after the people are finished performing the actions “like girls” the director asks the young boy “when did like a girl, become an insult?” The boy said he wasn’t trying to insult girls like his sister. Once the director told him to stop and answer the question it caused the boy to use logic and think about what he had just done. It also uses pathos because it uses girls emotions to show that they’re as strong as any other person. They don’t know that doing actions “like a girl” is demeaning because they have not been exposed to that view that society has on women.

SUMMARY: This YouTube video is of a TV commercial from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) from December of 2019. The commercial describes the suffering that homeless animals go through during the holiday season (being out in the frigid cold with no shelter, food, or water). Furthermore, the commercial provides information on how to donate (via website or phone) money that would go towards helping these animals. The commercial shows repeated images and videos of suffering animals that look miserable, scared, and cold. Throughout the commercial, “Silent Night” plays in the background, setting a sad and ominous tone.
RESPONSE: This commercial is very clearly using Pathos to appeal to the viewer’s emotions. Seeing the images of the suffering animals, paired with the slow and sad music, prompts an emotional response within the viewer. The emotional response a viewer would feel from watching this commercial is sadness. The commercial then gives a website and phone number that the viewer can use to donate money as a way of helping the suffering animals. Because the viewers are sad from the images and music, they are more likely to donate. The commercial uses Pathos to prey on the viewer while they are vulnerable (because they are now in an emotional state). This tactic is very successful because most (if not all) people hate seeing animals suffer, so they are very likely to donate money.

The video shown above is a very popular video that was released back in the 2000’s and has become one of the biggest videos to really hit home for all animal lovers. The video really gets its watchers by the sad music being played, the song In The Arms Of an Angel are one of the most sad/heartfelt song in history. The song really makes its watchers create empathy for the sad abused dogs who deserve so much better. The video shows tremendously sad and graphic images that can be hard to watch but it also makes its watchers want to help the dogs and be a good person. The video uses a lot of ethos for being a trustworthy foundation that helps abused animals get the help they need and find a happy home. It also uses a lot of pathos. so much emotion is put into this video that really gets people to maybe even tear up and feel really sad. the music, the tone, the images, the the statistics provided really strong pathos! Also showing some logos by simply giving the logical statements that we should be the ones to help these animals that do not have a voice, and how all animals deserve respect and love. I definitely love this commercial because it really encourages others to help those poor animals in need of help! It saddens me that there are horrible humans in this world that would really hurt an animal that almost cannot really defend itself or speak up. So we need to help those animals and be their voice for them. This video is a perfect example of a lot of pathos, ethos, and logos.

Summary: Here we see David Burd the creator and writer of the music video. This video explores Burd emotions on how a man handles emotions post break up.
the focus of the video and song is Burd attending his exs wedding.
Explanation:
it starts off with him in a room with his friends as they tease him. Burd shows emotional discomfort in this scene meaning there is a deeper feeling.
the video then goes to the church where he is meeting family.
in the church we see Burd ex walk up the isle but he refrains from turning his head to see here.
I think he knows that If he looks at her he will be deeply hurt
the video then goes to a party and here we see it take more effect on burd than ever. we see him look out of it maybe lost deep in thought or holding in emotions internally but acting like he is ok,
we see burd then leave the party and walk away with the music faded could it be from the alcohol he drank or maybe he is just super lost in thought.

Budweiser, a well-known company that sells beer, moved the American public when their brilliant commercial was aired during the infamous Super Bowl of 2020. Americans are known to hold a great deal of patriotism in their county, and seems as if other countries don’t recognize all the good that can take place in the States- these were the strings of thethe hearts Budweiser knew they needed to pull in order to drive sales. Through this entire commercial, Budweiser uses multiple scenes of people doing random acts of kindness, activists fighting for civil rights, and athletes taking pride in their hard-earned victories, but narrates as a pessimist that places Americans in a negative light. For example, a clip of a man helping someone push their car through the snow was inserted and narrated, “Look at him, touching other people’s things”. Reinforcing what the majority of the public believes America is all about and making watchers feel good about themselves, the commercial uses humor to emphasize how silly it is to be a pessimist and never forget the beautiful things society is capable of.
What makes this commercial absolutely genius and effective? Budweiser knew exactly who their audience was going to be and where their core moral values lie- through the use of rhetoric, pathos in particular, this commercial made the audience feel good about themselves, recognized their pride in America, and gave themselves a pat on the back for being good Americans. The tactics Budweiser used are essential keys that should always be taken into account as a writer, or anyone attempting to use rhetoric to their advantage- if the reader has no interest in what they are reading or don’t see the value in the message being delivered, the paper loses worth. This commercial is potentially the piece I will be analyzing for my rhetorical analysis as the message is clear and rhetoric is being used to perfection.

In this scholarly article, titled, “Rhetoric in Comedy: How Comedians Use Persuasion and How Society Uses Comedians,” the author explores the ways in which comedians use rhetorical devices such as logos, pathos, and ethos to engage the audience and make them laugh. The article breaks down the similarities between stand up comedy and rhetoric. The comedian has to establish a sense of ethos, but rather than this ethos being mainly built on credibility, it’s built on being perceived as an underdog. The ethos is used to make the audience feel as though the comedian is not talking at them so much as he is talking with them. This makes the audience favor the comedian and establishes a sense of intimacy. Additionally, the comedian needs to establish logos. This is probably the least apparent of the three rhetorical devices, but still used nonetheless. The comedian’s version of logos is largely contained in the set up. A joke by Joe Rogan includes him stating facts about how the conception of tampons to set up the joke that of course tampons were created by a man; pointing out how barbaric a method it is. He used logos to set up and even deliver the punchline. Logos plays a big role in getting the audience to view something in a total different perspective, and/or articulate a thought we’ve all had, but in a funny matter. George Carlin was a master at this. The next, and biggest, rhetorical device for a comedian to deploy is pathos. Pathos is essential to a comedian. It’s the main source of connection to the audience. Laughter is incited by multiple things including creating tension and then breaking that tension with something unexpected and absurd. Pathos is essential to creating that tension, drawing stakes to stories and getting the audience invested in what’s being said. This is where delivery becomes of extra importance. This article relates to our learning of rhetoric. It shows the capacity for rhetoric as essential tools in all platforms of communication.

The video that I chose to write about for this week’s journal response is a Peloton commercial called “The Gift that Gives Back”. This commercial depicts a man gifting his wife an exercise machine for Christmas. The commercial shows the wife using the exercise machine and even using it when she doesn’t necessarily want to. Then goes on to make a compilation video of her usage of the machine to give to her husband to show her appreciation for him purchasing machine for her. The rhetoric and that this ad appeals to is mostly pathos which is an emotional appeal because it displays the woman’s motivation and determination which in turn the supposed to motivate the viewer of the ad. This ad also involves a little bit of ethos appeal because the tone is supposed to be motivating and the woman is supposed to be trustworthy as a regular person so other regular people would also want to purchase the machine.
The reason I chose this had to respond to is because they had actually had a very controversial response. This controversy is what connects to Wednesday’s class and the discussion about gender stereotypes and bias in media. This ad cause controversy because people believed it to be sexist for a man to imply that his wife needs to lose weight. It is common for women to be scrutinized or judged because of their appearance in media. Heading people are free to interpret the ad how they want and it is true that the way women are portrayed in media isn’t always the best, but I am not sure this particular ad meant to give sexist over tones. This seems to be an example of how people need to be careful with how they advertise things and think thoroughly about their audience.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2019/06/14/style/uk-gender-stereotype-ads-ban.amp.html
In the following article, the issue is gender roles placed within ads. Studies showed that the majority of ads in Britain had male actors, and the smaller percentages of time that women appeared in ads, they became sexualized or played a motherly role. Companies in Britain were given a six month notice in advance before the law changed. The law puts the ban of gender roles and discriminations into place within ads. Meaning that typically gender assigned parts of the past (such as roles and chores) are prohibited in order to prevent the pressure of gender roles on society. Gender stereotypes were found to often lead to rhetoric and harmful and unequal gender issues in society. The harmful effects of enforced societal beliefs on others also included the misrepresentation of bodies. The ban took on the issue of fat shaming or portraying people who are unhealthy thin. Several countries such as Belgium, France, Finland, Greece, Norway, South Africa and India have rules in place to prevent sexism in ads. By moving forward with ridding of sexism in ads, more and more countries can hope to achieve a more equal treatment of genders in society.
In the following ad, I believe that by changing the way media portrays women, we can strive more towards gender equality. Since media and advertisements play such a large role in today’s world, people are more likely to absorb what the media portrays and acceptable or normal. Ads can also help encourage more women to be empowered or accepted with any body type, career, or role in a family. By preventing the objectification and specialization of women in ads, we can help prevent gender discrimination and sexual assault in the future. Cutting down on sexualization in ads may allow people to not see women as made for pleasure or as an object or baby maker. And by enforcing the encouragement of healthy body types that are not anorexic or extremely thin, it can prevent people from feeling the need to feel self conscious about not having the “perfect body” or being thin and fit. Also by having more actresses take roles in advertisements, we can allow them to understand they have the ability and power to achieve larger goals in life other than being seen as a wife, mother, or a homemaker. I believe that the ban of gender discrimination in ads will be a step towards more equality between men and women.

In one lyric he mentions why we take from our women when they give so much in various ways as well as the struggles they face. The main chorus express to keep your head up and that things will get easy a very uplifting and motivating message for women to hear. Shakur then reflects on his past and relates it to his race discussing how it hard to be legit and pay the rent during that time.
Tupac is know for his political talk through rap music informing the female gender in his song and talks what women face. It is very true because still in the society we live today we still have gender roles and stereotypes that women face everyday. It expresses in the song that we as a society and men have no control over a women’s body and they should be able to do as they please. In addition it also covers the physical abuse and rape that seems to even get worse especially in this time. As men we need to step up to give to the women who give so much to us in order turn the stereotypes and gender roles that are implied on women.

At first everyone was a little skeptical about Cash covering this song due to the 71 year olds voice continuously crackling in the studio.
In the beginning you can literally feel the sadness in Johnny’s voice, as he keeps singing he explains how he focuses on the pain because that’s the only thing that’s real. He asks his sweetest friend what has life become. His sweetest friend is his wife June which is also in this music video. He says everyone I’ve known goes away in the end. June his loving wife died three months after filming, he followed her a couple months later…

We use Ethos, Pathos and Logos to persuade our audience that our ideas are convincing. We use ethos as a way to have writers persuade you, The writer uses there authority trying to convince you of her reliability, knowledgeability, and authority in the hope that by doing so she will establish a sufficient sense of her own credibility that you will be persuaded to do something. The writer demonstrates mastery of the terminology in the field. The writer uses her reputation to gain the readers agreement. Pathos on the other hand means, In Greek, the word pathos means suffering and experience. The words empathy and pathetic are derived from pathos. Writers use pathos to evoke sympathy or other emotions from readers and, optimally, to make readers feel what they want them to feel. In Greek, logos means reason. When writers try to persuade readers by designing their arguments to appeal to your sense of logic and reason, they are using a mode of appeal, a rhetorical tactic or strategy
Response; Ethos, pathos, logos is very important because they compose a great paper that carries all these different components to create an argumentative paper. It is very valuable for one to understand the use of these 3 categories to persuade your audience that your ideas are convincing. Applying this technique will definitely help me out during my process of producing my next paper.

The video i chose to analyze is titled “please don’t kill your self “. And the subject that he talks about is Suicide. The issue of suicide affects people in all stages of life. Everyone has suicidal thoughts at some point in life. But in the end, it leaves more pain and hardships for the people that are still here and have to live with the choice of another. This year alone i have lost two people that i know personally to suicide. Both cases had different circumstances but the outcome is the same. The pain is still here and how the lyrics are used in this song really hit home for me. Around 2% of deaths are caused by suicide but what if there was a way out? This video has inspired me to dive deeper into this issue and want to help others and educate people more on this subject and to promote this issue because A lot of suicide victims don’t speak out. I want to be that ear that they can call on to listen, that shoulder to cry on, and there is a quote that rings true to me on the matter of suicide which says” suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem”. I want to change that in what ever way that i can. When we were in class last week and watching the music video from Logic, this topic rang true to me. And thats why i chose this topic.

This movie clip is from the movie “Brave.” It shows Merida, the princess, and her mother, Queen Elinor, arguing. This movie scene highlights two characters reacting quite badly to each other with heightened emotions. It also shows heavy clues of gender stereotyping and roles. This scene is right after another great scene from the movie, when Merida defies the whole contest for who decides to have her own hand in marriage. Unimpressed from the contestants, she takes matters into her own hands and obliterates the archery targets and the contestant’s prides with her archery skills. In doing so, she ruins her whole outfit her mother prepared for her, did an extremely informal act, and made her parents and whole kingdom look bad. She did show off her archery skills and show that she has confidence though. In this scene, Merida’s mother expects Merida to act “princess – like” and Merida explodes with lots of built up emotion against her mother. Merida takes pride in her character of freedom and wanting to do what she wants, which is completely against what her mother wants. Her mother wants her to be a formal princess and live in a castle whereas Merida wants to do her own thing. They both completely act on pure emotion, saying and doing extremely hurtful things to each other. Merida basically completely disowns her mother and ends up running away. Afterwards, Queen Elinor realizes what she had said and done and is shocked at herself.
I chose this scene because it was a great movie, was one of the highlights of the movie, is an excellent example of gender roles and stereotyping, and shows what happens when we act purely on emotion. I enjoyed analyzing this scene. It clearly shows Queen Elinor’s expectations for her daughter to fulfill the gender role she herself has been working hard to make her fulfill. When things don’t go as planned, they both end up doing stupid things. Merida already doesn’t want to be a princess but unfortunately lives in a culture where she is expected to. It doesn’t help that she also is the eldest child and only girl in the family.

In this video, Greg talks about how intermittent fasting is the best way to burn fat and gain muscle. He goes on describing each phase of intermittent fasting that he does in a day or week. Not only does he fast during the day but he also fasts while working out and shows us some ethos, logos, and pathos by showing us the facts. He uses the ethos by showing us movie stars who are strong and have muscle to help us realize what it does. He uses pathos by being very sincere with his speech while talking and showing his experience and others experiences on intermittent fasting.
I’ll be using this for my rhetorical essay by describing each part of the video and also have my experience with intermittent fasting. When I was in search for muscle gain and try to be at 8-10% body fat i came across this and did my own research on this fasting and i have seen it work for myself and many others. My dad does it and he went from 205lbs to 165lbs (5’10). As well as my older brother who is 5’9 and 225lbs and dropped down to 185lbs. This actually works! There’s plenty of research that shows this works and i’ll be showing it in me essay.

This is a TED talk video discussing “The mind behind Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity…” Elon Musk, an innovative entrepreneur speaks on Ted Talk regarding his ideas behind his sustainable energy electric car as well as the innovation project of reusable rocket, and solar panels. The reason I chose this video is because it presents a great demonstration of rhetoric analysis. Elon Musk uses all three appeals when it comes to the Ted Talk. Firstly, he uses logos also known as logical appeals by stating his logic, giving scientific evidence and data. He explains what the concepts are and how solar power is more efficient than natural gasses. Secondly, Elon Musk is the CEO and product architect of T E S L A Motors, as well as the CEO and CTO of SpaceX, therefore this is ethical appeal since he is a credible man. Lastly he uses pathos, emotional appeal, by showing how much he cares about his mission to accelerate the world’s transition to a sustainable energy future. Elon Musk shows genuine passion and drive for his projects. His confidence is well respected, and he is creating things and sharing his ideas, not to make money, but to change the world with his creative mind. Elon Musk’s efforts at visionary change for humanity are great and inspirational.

So this article is about how young men and women of this generation are more open to gender equality in the sense of things like; the gender wage gap, pronouns, and sports. However apparently the same cannot be said for house hold chores. Apparently these days chores are still separated by gender. Traditionally women would stay home and do house work while men were out working. However according to the studies mentioned in the article men are now doing more housework and child care than women are these days. Basically, the article is saying that while maybe the gender roles have changed, they’ve only reversed rather than becoming equal. Perhaps the article does not really focus on what chores may be considered manly and which womanly, but it is interesting to find out how societal roles have been reversed.
The article is beside what the title implies, yet still quite interesting. It suggests that maybe the roles of men and women are still not equal just reversed. This got me thinking. If everyone is happy with the status quo then is equality really that important? I personally don’t hear many men complain about how they have to stay home take care of the kids and do the dishes. I don’t hear many women complaining about going to work and being the primary money makers of the family. If nobody is complaining and everyone is happy with how labor is divided then perhaps equality does not matter as much. However, if someone is unhappy with their individual situation then I do find it important for them to let that be known and to strive for equality in their situation.
