What are some possible reasons for banning books?
Introduction to Sandra Cisneros
Have you ever read anything by Sandra Cisneros before this class?
Did anybody look here up? What did you find out? Her books were banned in Arizona. Why do you think they banned them?

Why are we reading her stories in a composition class? How is this different from our previous readings?

If you were Rachel, what would you have done?
To answer this, write a dialogue between Rachel and Mrs. Price. Begin your dialogue with:
Mrs. Price: Of course the sweater’s yours. I remember you wearing it once.
Continue the dialogue any way you want.
What I did well in my essay is use punctuation.
The strengths of my essay are: I used detail and told a good story.

What I did well in my essay was really thinking about what was happening in my literacy narrative and being really descriptive on what was going on.
Some strengths in my essay would that it is very descriptive, long, and organized well. Some weaknesses would be that it is long and maybe its too descriptive.
I didn’t really struggle in writing this essay because I remembered everything about that day and could easily write down my thoughts.

1.I learned to deal with difficult people. I also learned to be grateful.
2. My essays strength and weakness is the content, i knew what i was talking about but I had so much material that it came out jumbled. My weakness is also my writing experience, I haven’t really written a paper in at least twenty years.
3. I struggled with the topic mostly. I don’t learn fun positive things and am a private person. I also struggled with my organizing my words and thoughts. I didn’t know if what i was trying to say came across on paper.

Why ban books? i feel like most books are banned becasue of the unsatisfactory content in them. Maybe some are too sexual or theyre homosexual and the people above us dont want us reading about gay people. Or maybe the books are about rising up aginst the man thats keeping us down so obviously they dont want people reading that because the more people that read than than the more people that will join the cause
